Why validate cooking instructions?
Research shows that most shoppers follow on-pack guidance. BRC and retailer policies place strong emphasis on clear, safe cooking instructions supported by robust data.
Our validation service provides a structured, independent check on your guidelines, confirming that it meets both thermal and organoleptic expectations before you commit to artwork and print.
If you do not yet have a confirmed guideline, or would prefer us to develop one on your behalf, our generation service can be combined with validation as a joined-up programme.

Appliances we validate on
We carry out validation using calibrated domestic appliances that reflect how consumers cook at home. Typical appliances include:
- Microwave ovens: 700W, 750W, 800W, 850W, 900W and 1000W
- Domestic ovens: gas, electric (conventional) and electric (fan assisted)
- Hob top: electric and gas
- Grill: gas and electric
- Air fryers
- Deep fat fryers
- Slow cookers

How a project typically runs
Once we have your brief, we agree a test plan and schedule. Following testing, you receive a full report and we remain available to walk you through the results or support any follow-up work.
- Initial enquiry and discussion to understand your product and policy requirements.
- Sample receipt and booking into our system.
- Testing by trained staff using calibrated appliances.
- Issuing of a clear report, including any recommendations.
- Your account manager will remain on-hand to assist with any queries.
