Cooking Guideline Generation

When your guideline needs some optimisation or there is no existing guideline, we develop and test new instructions according to any requirements set out in your brief, then validate them in line with your needs.

Generation and validation in one joined-up service

From exploratory trials to recommended wording

Our generation service focuses on understanding your product, packaging, retailer requirements and any practical constraints.

According to your brief, we explore appliance settings, timings and standing times, using calibrated equipment to deliver a guideline that meets both safety and organoleptic quality expectations, while remaining clear for consumers.

Each step is documented so that you can understand how the final recommendation was reached.

Generation work typically includes

  • Development trials across relevant appliances.
  • Assessment of safety, quality and practicality at each stage.
  • Refinement of settings and times to reach an optimal solution.
  • Suggested consumer-facing wording for packs and specifications.
  • Dedicated account management throughout your project.

Appliances we generate guidelines for

Generation programmes use the same range of calibrated domestic appliances as our validation work, for example:

  • Microwave ovens: 700W, 750W, 800W, 850W, 900W and 1000W
  • Domestic ovens: gas, electric (conventional) and electric (fan assisted)
  • Hob top: electric and gas
  • Grill: gas and electric
  • Air fryers
  • Deep fat fryers
  • Slow cookers

If the appliance you require is not listed, please contact us – we will be happy to talk through the options and design a suitable programme.

Linked validation

Once a provisional guideline has been generated, we carry out formal validation testing in accordance with the relevant retailer policy and your own specifications.

You receive generation and validation reports that work together to provide a clear trail from first trials to final instruction.
