FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Practical information about how we work, our accreditation and what to expect when you book testing with us.

Can I have a quote quickly?

Yes! We aim to respond to all enquiries in no more than 2 hours even in peak times. Once we have the details of the testing required, we will have a no obligation quote across to you ASAP. If you would then like to proceed to book in samples for testing, we will be on hand to walk you through the process.

Why should my cooking guideline be independently validated?

Having your cooking guideline validated by a UKAS accredited testing laboratory, ensures compliance with BRC requirements and many retailer policies. In addition, it may highlight any issues prior to ordering packaging.

Are you UKAS accredited and how can I see your schedule?

Yes. Byzas Research Limited is a UKAS accredited testing laboratory, number 10486, accredited to ISO/IEC 17025. Our current schedule of accreditation can be viewed on the UKAS website.

How many samples will I need to send?

Sample requirements depend on the products, appliances and scope of testing. Your account contact will outline the minimum quantity required once we understand your brief..

What happens if a product does not reach the required temperature?

If a product fails to meet agreed thermal criteria we apply our usual checks to confirm the result, then provide a full report. We can then discuss options for further generation work or alternative approaches.

Which retailer policies can you work to?

We routinely test to major UK retailer policies. When contacting us, please mention the policy or policies that apply so that we can make sure the proposed work aligns with those requirements.
